The Guard is headed by a Commandant, who takes his orders from the High King himself. The legions are made up of many platoons, each specializing in an area of military combat.

Not much is known of the Guard just yet, except that it is organized into nine legions, each lead by a Prefect. Similar to the Imperial Legion before it, the Guard is split into separate legions with each being composed of members based on their skills (Archery, Swordsmanship, Magic, etc.). The Skyrim Guard was founded by High King Ulfric Stormcloak in 4E 206 to replace the Hold guards and his own Stormcloak army as Skyrim's primary military force.
